In a little over a year, I’ve streamed over 74 days’ worth of music on Spotify. 

That’s a lot of music.

I’ve used Spotify since it first launched in the U.S. in 2011, and I’ve been a paying subscriber since 2013. 

I’ve never been one to obsessively track the number of minutes I’ve spent listening to music, but I was curious to see how much music I’ve actually streamed on Spotify.

According to Spotify, I’ve streamed 74 days, 8 hours, and 28 minutes of music in the past year. 

That averages out to around 6 hours and 28 minutes of streaming per month. 

To put that number in perspective, the average person in the U.S. listens to around 18 hours of music per week, so I’m streaming almost 3x the amount of music as the average person.

I also looked at the number of different artists I’ve streamed in the past year. 

I’ve streamed music from 2,023 different artists, which averages out to around 171 different artists per month. 

The most streamed artist in the past year has been The Weeknd, with my account having streamed his music for over 10 hours. 

Other artists in the top 5 include Drake, Justin Bieber, Future, and Rihanna. 

It’s interesting to see which artists I’ve streamed the most and to see how my listening habits have changed over time. 

For example, I streamed a lot of music from One Direction a few months ago, but their music isn’t as high up on my list of most streamed artists now. 

Spotify also keeps track of the number of different albums I’ve streamed. 

I’ve listened to music from 548 different albums, which averages out to around 45 different albums per month. 

The most streamed album in the past year has been The Weeknd’s Beauty Behind the Madness, with my account having streamed it for over 24 hours. 

Other albums in the top 5 include Drake’s If You’re Reading This It’s Too Late, Justin Bieber’s Purpose, Rihanna’s Anti, and Future’s DS2. 

It’s interesting to see which albums I’ve streamed the most and to see how my listening habits have changed over time. 

For example, I streamed a lot of music from the Hamilton soundtrack a few months ago, but that album isn’t as high up on my list of most streamed albums now. 

Overall, it’s been fascinating to see how much music I’ve streamed on Spotify in the past year. 

It’s been a great way to discover new music and to revisit old favorites.
